Our institution organised a trip to Grand Lexis Port Dickson for more than 100 directors, staff and volunteers from 4th November to 6th November 2018, for its 151st Anniversary Celebration cum Retreat and Family Day. Two different tour coaches set off from Thong Chai Building and Woodlands early in the morning to meet up at Malacca with a group who had arrived a day earlier, for a sumptuous lunch. On 5th November, the retreat, themed the Past, Present and Future of Thong Chai, was held at the Grand Ballroom of the resort. Participants had enthusiastic discussions in their groups and shared their insights in a warm and conducive environment. Following this was a buffet lunch and a Telematch for the groups led by the hotel staff. Everyone had much fun taking part in the games and cheering for their teammates. In the evening, in harmony with the tropical environs, everyone attended the anniversary dinner in floral or Nonya themed outfits. Guests were treated to a delicious buffet spread, hilarious skits by the physicians, games and a grand lucky draw. The seaweed dance, led by the team of NTU physicians, ended the night on a high for all guests, as everyone eagerly followed the moves uninhibitedly. Early in the morning of the next day, participants checked out of the resort and came back to Singapore with many fond memories and insights on the institution’s future.Assembly at Thong Chai Building at 6am
