Terms and Conditions for Online Donations


1. Purpose

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution’s (“STCMI”) online donation platform available at www.stcmi.fund (“Platform”). By making a donation through the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Making a Donation
  • Donations may be made using the payment methods available on the Platform.
  • Donations are voluntary and are intended to support STCMI’s charitable objects and programmes.
  • Before submitting a donation, donors should ensure that all information provided, including the donor’s name, identification number (where applicable), contact details and donation amount, is complete and accurate.
  • A donation is deemed successful only after payment has been authorised and confirmed by the payment service provider.
3. Monthly Donations
  • Where the monthly donation option is selected, the donor authorises STCMI or its appointed payment service provider to process the donation on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly donations will continue until the donor requests cancellation.
  • A donor may amend or cancel a monthly donation by contacting STCMI or through the donor portal, subject to the processing timelines of the payment service provider.
  • Any cancellation request will not affect donations that have already been processed before the cancellation takes effect.
4. Donation Receipts and Tax Deduction
  • An acknowledgement or donation receipt will be issued for successful donations where applicable.
  • Eligible donations may qualify for tax deduction in accordance with the prevailing requirements of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).
  • Where the donor has provided a valid Tax Reference Number (e.g. NRIC, FIN or UEN), the tax deduction will be automatically included in the donor’s income tax assessment in accordance with IRAS requirements.
5. Refund Policy
  • Donations are generally non-refundable once successfully processed.
  • Refund requests arising from duplicate payments, incorrect donation amounts due to processing errors or other exceptional circumstances may be considered by STCMI on a case-by-case basis.
6. Donor Recognition
  • STCMI may acknowledge donors in its annual report, publications, website or other communication materials, unless the donor has requested otherwise.
  • Donors who do not wish their names and/or donation amounts to be published may notify STCMI in writing, and STCMI will respect such requests where reasonably practicable.
7. Personal Data

Personal data collected through the Platform shall be managed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and STCMI’s Personal Data Protection Statement.

8. Platform Availability

STCMI will use reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of the Platform. However, the Platform may be unavailable due to maintenance, system upgrades or circumstances beyond STCMI’s reasonable control.

9. Third-Party Payment

Online donations are processed through authorised third-party payment service providers. STCMI shall not be responsible for delays or interruptions arising from such services.

10. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all content available on the Platform, including text, images, graphics, logos and other materials, is owned by or licensed to STCMI. No content may be copied, reproduced, modified or distributed without STCMI’s prior written consent.

11. Disclaimer

While STCMI makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of information on the Platform, the Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties to the extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, STCMI shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Platform.

13. Amendments

STCMI may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be published on the Platform and will take effect upon publication. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
